Hurray for Our Nursery Workers of the Week!

It is wonderful to have busy days in the nursery!  This Sunday
was another one of those busy days.  Thank you to Judy Henderson, Diane Clark, Mary Lou Millwood, and Lucie Moore for their good work with the little ones  during the longer service.  We appreciate each of you!

We are in need of someone to work this Sunday.
We also need folks to work in the nursery during Sunday School.
Please contact Cheryl Beck if you can help. We are thankful for your willingness to help!

We are still in need of someone to fill in on October 27 and also to work
in the nursery during Sunday school.  Please contact Cheryl Beck if you can help.

1st Explorers After-School Ministry Update

1st Explorers sure are hungry when they get off the bus or church van!  After all, they are growing children and they have expended a lot of energy at school.  With your help we can provide them with a healthy snack each day.

Favorite snacks that Assistant Director Kayla Hartman says they enjoy are apples, pretzels, peanut butter, and chips.  If you would like to contribute snacks for 30 people, put them on the cart inside the back door at church.

A Way You Can Help

Sarah Ogletree Ritter, former youth intern at FBC Sylva who now works for Creation Care Alliance of WNC, has been in contact with Gaye Buchanan, WMU director. Sarah lives and works in Mitchell County, which is one of the hardest hit counties in WNC from Helene. She is in need of gently used shirts, hats, gloves, baby & children items, towels, wash cloths, hygiene items, canned foods and gift cards. Please bring your donations to the Loving Kindness Room and WMU members will deliver them to her parents. Thank you!
