WMU will be sewing vests for GAs and RAs in the Mission Fellowship Center after exercise class (around 11:30) on January 23rd until 4:00 PM. Any help is welcome!
A church-wide "Old-Fashioned Sewing Bee" will be held on Monday, November 14th, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., in the Mission and Fellowship Center. Sponsored by WMU, the goal of the sewing bee is to create vests for the approximately 50 boys and girls in RAs and GAs to wear and proudly display the badges they earn in mission study activities.
Can't sew? There will be plenty of jobs to do -- from cutting and marking to pressing. Can sew? Your skills will definitely be needed! Can't come but want to contribute? We could use some funds to help pay for the many yards of fabric needed for the vests.
Sewing machines and irons and ironing boards are needed and participants are asked to bring basic sewing equipment (labeled with their names) to use during the day. Also, bring a bag lunch.

The Girls in Action Group are planning a fashion show for a Wednesday Dinner. If any one has costumes or accessories from around the world that you are willing to let them borrow for about 30 minutes from your collections please call Gaye Buchanan at 506-3270 Thanks.
WMU is sponsoring Operation Christmas Child this year. There will be two boxes in the Loving Kindness Room for your donations—one for girls and one for boys. Please DO NOT donate any of the following: Used items, toy guns, knives, or other war related items; chocolate or perishable items; liquids of any kind; medicine, and breakable items. Boxes are due by Weds. November 16. Thank you!

WMU would like to thank all who came together to make last Sunday’s baby shower a complete success! Rakash and Aarti Gupta were overwhelmed and wanted to thank everyone for the nice shower and gifts. The baby and his big sister are beautiful!
WMU would like to invite you to help this young couple.
Aarti and Rakash Gupta are from India. They want a better life than they can have in India.
Rakash is working for Leo and Sandra James’ corporation.
They are living in the corporation’s student housing and have no transportation.
Aarti speaks limited English but Rakash speaks very good English.
They said they have nothing for the new baby. Let’s help them to get ready.
All ladies of the church are invited to participate.

The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program will resume on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to about 11:25 a.m., starting September 12th and running till November 2nd.
The WMU West of Asheville event held in our Mission and Fellowship Center a couple of weeks ago was a success! There was great fellowship and a wonderful lunch! Thank you to all who attended!
